Transportation

Public Transport from/to the airport:


Public busses (bus lines 630 and 631) bring you conveniently from the Airport to Graz Jakominiplatz (the central point of public transport). The bus stop is outside the passenger terminal, next to the arrival area. The travel time is 20 minutes, the price for a one-way trip is € 2.40. 

Train:

You need to walk about 5 minutes to reach the train station of the airport. Line S5 connects to Graz Hauptbahnhof (central station)

Taxi:

The taxi rank is outside the passenger terminal. The approximate fare to the city center is 30 €.

Public Transport in the city:

To NH Hotel:
When you get off the airport bus in Radetzkystraße, turn to the left and proceed to Jakominiplatz (for a map click here). Take bus no. 30 (direction Geidorf) which stops on Karmeliterplatz.
Alternatively you could also take a free ride ("Altstadtbim" see below) by tram lines 1 (direction Eggenberg/UKH), 3 & 6 (both Laudongasse), 4 & 5 (both Andritz) and 7 (Wetzelsdorf). All these tram lines stop on "Hauptplatz" from where you walk up "Sporgasse" to your hotel on Karmeliterplatz (for a map click here).

To the venue:
On Jakominiplatz get on bus no. 31 (Uni/Resowi) and get off at its final stop.

Public Transport from the central station:


To NH Hotel:

Take tram line 1 (direction Mariatrost), 3 (Krenngasse), 6 (St. Peter), or 7 (St. Leonhard/LKH). Get off on Hauptplatz and walk up Sporgasse to Karmeliterplatz (for a map click here). Or get off one stop later on Jakominiplatz and change to bus no. 30 which stops on Karmeliterplatz.

To the venue:

Take bus no. 63 and get off at "Universität".

Tickets for public transport:

One hour ticket: € 2.40 (available in all busses from the driver and in trams from the ticket vending machine)
24 hours ticket: € 5.30 (available as above)
3 days tourist ticket: € 12.40 (available from all ticket vending machines by Graz Linien, at the food store "Spar" both at the airport and at the central station, at many hotels and at Graz Tourism in Herrengasse)

Make sure you punch your ticket inside the tram or bus (unless you bought it on board from the vending machine which prints the validity period automatically)!

 

There's free ride on trams in the very center of town. The stops are indicated as "Altstadt-Bim". While the workshop venue is not covered by this service, it provides free ride between Jakominiplatz, Hauptplatz (main square), Schlossbergplatz and Kunsthaus (art museum).
